WHY:

We are among the many, many Minneapolis families who benefit from our state's fantastic Spanish immersion daycares. And now, our beloved teachers are under attack by ICE—as black and brown people are being abducted off the streets, terrorized, and held without due process. At a different location of our daycare, a teacher was abducted by men in masks as she walked into work, while children were being dropped off for the day.

Our teachers are scared to leave their houses. Their family members are losing wages and being forced to choose between their safety and their ability to provide for their families. This mutual aid fund, organized by our parent community, is providing groceries, rides, and other necessary support for them and their families during this terrifying time.

Our city is under attack, and it is our duty to stand up for and support the people who we rely on to care for our children. To put it plainly: our life would not be possible without these loving, dedicated caretakers. Please join us in supporting them.
